Alan Tudyk exits Broadway show Meteor shower over ‘creative differences’

Alan Tudyk has exited Steve Martin’s Broadway show Meteor Shower over “creative differences”.
The actor, who was set to play Amy Schumer’s husband in the stage show, will be replaced by Jeremy Shamos. The comedic drama was written by Martin and centres on marriage anxieties which come to the fore when two couples get together for dinner in Ojai, California.
The show, which is being directed by Jerry Zaks, also features Laura Benanti and Keegan-Michael Key. It will begin previews on 1 November (17) and will officially open at the Booth Theatre on 29 November (17).
Meteor Shower is the second project penned by Martin to head to Broadway. He previously wrote the bluegrass musical Bright Star with his frequent collaborator Edie Brickell.
The new show will serve as Schumer’s Broadway debut.
