Alicia Keys recruits Chance The Rapper and Salt-N-Pepa for Black Ball

Chance The Rapper and Salt-N-Pepa will join Alicia Keys at her annual Black Ball in New York in October (16).
A$AP Rocky and Patti Smith will also hit the stage at Alicia’s Keep A Child Alive charity event, now in its 13th year.
The star-studded concert will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom on 19 October (16).
“We have an electric lineup of performers both legends and newcomers this year and I know the energy in the room is going to be ALIVE,” Keys wrote in a press release, revealing the gig will live stream for the first time on Jay Z’s TIDAL online service.
“(It gives) so many people the chance to join in the fight against AIDS, and experience this truly magical night where all my worlds come together!”
Keep a Child Alive launched in 2003 and supports HIV and AIDS victims in India and Africa. Alicia’s Black Ball has raised over $28.7 million (GBP22.1 million) to date.
Music mogul Clive Davis, who helped launch Alicia’s career, will be honoured with the Keep a Child Alive Humanitarian Award at the black-tie event.
