Amanda Seyfried apologises after criticising influencer’s ‘thin’ post-baby body

Amanda Seyfried has apologised after criticising a social media influencer’s “thin” post-baby body.
Arielle Charnas, aka Instagram’s Something Navy, posted a beach-ready picture of herself with the caption: “Proud of my body after two kids” but the image didn’t sit too well with mother-of-one Amanda.
She reposted a comment a friend left on Arielle’s popular page that read, “Totally fine that you’re privileged and thin, good for you (I am too-ish!). Got no problem with either of those things. BUT if you don’t acknowledge how your wealth made your workouts/body possible, you’re just perpetuating the patriarchal (totally unrealistic) notion that mothers should ‘bounce back’ after childbirth, an impossibility for anyone who can’t afford ample childcare (which is almost everyone in this country).”
Amanda then added the caption: “If we’re ready to get paid for flaunting our lifestyle (and inspiring some in the meantime) we have to be open to the discussions surrounding what we’re promoting. If you know who you are – take a second to decide if what you’re throwing out there is worth it – in the big picture.”
Arielle, who has since blocked the actress and her friend, has since addressed some of the negative responses her photo dredged up, revealing she felt “punished because I’m thin.”
“Why am I being bullied for posting myself in a bathing suit? I should be punished because I’m thin and worked hard to be fit after giving birth to two kids?” Arielle asked in her Instagram story. “I’m not responsible for making people feel good about themselves. I am healthy and proud of who I am and the body I have. If you are going to attack me for me being me on my own page then you will be blocked, I don’t have time for that.”
Mamma Mia! star Amanda, who was also attacked for appearing to criticise Arielle, responding by writing: “I’m sorry if this stinks of (judgment). It’s not meant to. It’s all a discussion that needs to be had.”
