Armie Hammer has confessed that he would love to play Batman if offered the chance.
Following Ben Affleck’s official departure from Matt Reeves‘ The Batman film in January (19), the search has been on for the director to find a replacement Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Oscar Isaac, Jack O’Connell, and Armie have all been rumoured to be up for the role, and while the Call Me by Your Name actor has denied that the part is his, he is open to portraying the Caped Crusader.
“None of the people who start rumours are actually the people who can give you jobs,” the 32-year-old insisted during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (21Mar19) when quizzed on the speculation. “So, it’s always like, ‘Oh, are you going to play Batman?’ And I’m like, ‘Well you just asked me, but guess who hasn’t – Warner Bros.’ What are you going to do?”
When asked if he would even be interested, Armie replied, “Yeah, who wouldn’t want to be Batman? I think every guy in this audience would want to be Batman if they could. It’s a good gig.”
While casting and plot details for The Batman remain unknown, the film is due to hit cinemas in June 2021.
