Ashton Kutcher’s Steve Jobs film to close Sundance

New films by Richard Linklater, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Winterbottom and Park Chan-Wook will also be part of the festival – Linklater’s offering will be the final film in the Before Sunrise trilogy, starring Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke as lovers, while Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut Don Jon’s Addiction will premiere at the festival.

Winterbottom’s The Look of Love and Park Chan-Wook much-anticipated Stoker will also be big attractions, as will Dave Grohl’s directorial debut, Sound City, which chronicles the history of the fabled Van Nuys, California recording studio where he and his Nirvana bandmates recorded the album Nevermind.

The rocker is delighted to be part of the newly-announced Sundance line-up.

In a statement, he writes, “As a first-time director, I am humbled to be able to share my passion for songwriting and storytelling with this incredible cast of legendary musicians, as seen through the extraordinary story of America’s greatest unsung recording studio, Sound City.

“Being included in this group of artists is a true honor, and the Sundance Film Festival is the perfect place to premiere a film about craft, integrity and passion for art. I am over the moon!”

The Sundance Film Festival runs from 17 to 27 January (13) in Park City, Utah.
