Asia Argento urges Uma Thurman to speak out about Harvey Weinstein

Asia Argento has urged fellow actress Uma Thurman to join the women who have spoken out against disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein.
The Italian star, who herself has accused Weinstein of sexual assault, shared a video clip on Twitter on Saturday (04Nov17) of Thurman talking to Access Hollywood about the scandal engulfing Hollywood.
“I don’t have a tidy soundbite for you, because I have learned, I am not a child and I have learned that… when I’ve spoken in anger, I usually regret the way I express myself,” Thurman said, visibly containing her anger and carefully choosing her words. “So I’ve been waiting to feel less angry… and when I’m ready, I’ll say what I have to say.”
The 47-year-old was talking at an event back in October, but the clip is now going viral after Argento shared it with her 363,000 followers on Twitter.
“Dear #UmaThurman may peace be with you and your soul,” the XXX actress wrote alongside the video. “We need your strong voice, it truly is commanding.”
Thurman has starred in several Weinstein-produced movies, including Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, all which were helmed by Quentin Tarantino.
Tarantino previously revealed he had known about Weinstein’s behaviour for years after his then-girlfriend Mira Sorvino told him she had an alleged incident with the producer.
“I knew enough to do more than I did,” he admitted. “There was more to it than just the normal rumours, the normal gossip. It wasn’t secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things.”
The 65-year-old disgraced producer has since entered rehab after being accused of sexual misconduct by over 50 women including Cara Delevingne, Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Angelina Jolie. Weinstein has denied having any non-consensual sex with anyone.
After the scandal broke he was fired from his studio, the Weinstein Company, and his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, left him.
