Moana star Auli’I Cravalho has signed on to lead the all-star cast of Disney’s upcoming live Little Mermaid television special.
Cravalho will play Ariel in The Wonderful World of Disney Presents The Little Mermaid Live!, opposite Queen Latifah as evil villain Ursula and reggae star Shaggy as crabby cohort Sebastian.
The television special, featuring a combination of live action, animation and puppetry, will air on 5 November (19) on America’s ABC network to honour the 30th anniversary of the release of Disney film classic.
A live-action version of the film is also in the works, with Halle Bailey attached as Ariel.
