Ava DuVernay to direct A Wrinkle in Time adaptation

Filmmaker Ava DuVernay has been chosen to direct the big screen version of classic fantasy novel A Wrinkle in Time.
Bosses at Disney have tapped the Selma director to helm the movie based on Madeleine L’Engle’s 1963 book about a group of children who travel back in time to find their missing scientist father.
Frozen writer/director Jennifer Lee wrote the script for the project, which has been in development since 2010.
A Wrinkle in Time adds to DuVernay’s busy slate, as she’s expected to direct sci-fi thriller Intelligent Life with Lupita Nyong’o and is also working on TV series Queen Sugar for Oprah Winfrey’s TV network, OWN.
