The Backstreet Boys have invited Korean boyband Bts to visit them in Las Vegas during their residency at Planet Hollywood’s The Axis venue.

The iconic 1990s boyband announced on Tuesday (06Feb18) that they had added 27 shows to their 2018 Sin City run, and invited BTS, one of Asia’s most popular acts, to attend as special guests.

“We are huge fans of BTS, we love them,” Backstreet BoysNick Carter said in a Twitter Q&A session promoting their new Las Vegas dates, revealing that DJ and producer Steve Aoki, who has remixed their new single Mic Drop, had introduced them to their music. “Actually, Aoki played us one of their songs that hasn’t been released. It’s a remix that he did in the studio, because we’re actually going to be doing something with Steve Aoki as well. We want to actually invite the guys to our show in Vegas, if you guys want to come. So BTS all the way, baby.”

AJ McLean was also positive about meeting the K-pop band, adding, “Bring it!”

The seven-strong group, who are also known as Bangtan Boys, were formed in 2013 and have built up a huge fanbase, with editors at Forbes magazine naming them as the most retweeted artist on Twitter in 2016. Last year (17), they won the Top Social Artist Award at America’s Billboard Music Awards and made their U.S. TV debut at the American Music Awards.

BTS member RM, real name Kim Nam-joon, has previously credited the Backstreet Boys as an inspiration.

“We’ve been listening to NSYNC and Backstreet Boys when we were young, and even our parents, they’re like 50 and they know the name,” he told Access Hollywood,

The announcement of Backstreet Boys‘ new Larger Than Life dates mean the K-pop band have plenty of time to see them in concert, as their residency now runs until 17 November (18).

The extended run of the shows ties in with the band’s 25th-anniversary celebrations later this year.
