Baldwin and Brinkley fight to save radio station

Hamptons-based station WLIU is on the brink of closure as its parent company Peconic Public Broadcasting fights to raise more than $500,000 (£333,333) by the end of August (10) to retain the station’s broadcast licence.

Baldwin has donated an unspecified sum to the campaign to save the station, and a spokesperson for the actor reveals the star has promised to continue helping out. The rep tells the New York Daily News, “Alec looks forward to helping raise funds for WLIU’s future.”

Former supermodel Brinkley adds, “We’ve got to save that radio station. We can’t let our beautiful small-town way of life out here get whittled away from us!”
