Bastille scrap New York show as singer battles vocal problems

Rockers Bastille have cancelled a concert in New York to allow frontman Dan Smith time to recover from vocal issues.
The band were billed to perform at The Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday (04Oct16), but singer Smith had to axe the gig hours before his band was scheduled to hit the stage.
In a post on Instagram, he explained: “This isn’t something we’ve ever done in years of touring so I feel very weird writing this. We’ve been very excited to play at The Bowery again and I can’t apologise enough for messing you guys around.”
He went on to explain he had strained his voice and was “reluctantly” taking the advice of his doctors to rest.
Bastille hope to reschedule the show at a later date.
