Ben Affleck and Mark Wahlberg among new UFC co-owners

Ben Affleck, Mark Wahlberg, and The Weeknd are among the new celebrity owners of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
The mixed martial arts promotion company was purchased for a whopping $4 billion by officials at talent agency William Morris Endeavor and a number of investment firms over the summer (16), and now it has been revealed a string of stars in music, Hollywood, and sport make up the ownership group.
A recently-released list of owners includes new dad Adam Levine, DJ Calvin Harris, rocker Flea and his Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmate Anthony Kiedis, rapper LL Cool J, Sylvester Stallone, directors Michael Bay and Tyler Perry, and athletes Venus and Serena Williams, Cam Newton, Maria Sharapova, and Gisele Bundchen’s husband Tom Brady.
“Expanding our ownership group to include this caliber of talent and entrepreneurs is a strong indicator of UFC’s fast-growing global presence,” UFC President Dana White said in statement. “Our new investors bring an incredible depth of knowledge and experience to help us continue to elevate this brand and capitalize on its entertainment and sports crossover appeal.”
