Beyonce covers Whitney Houston classic at school fundraiser

Beyonce has honoured the late Whitney Houston by performing a cover of I Will Always Love You at a school fundraiser.
The superstar surprised fans by hitting the stage at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Saturday night (05Mar16) to help celebrate the Center for Early Education’s 75th Anniversary Gala.
The set marked her first big gig since wowing viewers at the Super Bowl half-time show with Coldplay and Bruno Mars last month (Feb16), and featured Beyonce belting out hits like Crazy in Love and Halo.
However, one of the night’s highlights was her rendition of Whitney classic I Will Always Love You, which Beyonce has covered a number of times in the past. She also performed the ballad, penned by country queen Dolly Parton, as part of a tribute to late Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker in 2013, according to Eonline.com.
Beyonce’s appearance at the fundraising gala comes amid rumours suggesting Blue Ivy, her four-year-old daughter with husband Jay Z, is enrolled at the Center for Early Education, which is described as a “socio-economically and culturally diverse independent school for children”.
The hip-hop supercouple relocated from Jay Z’s native New York City to Los Angeles last year (15), but they have struggled to find the perfect home after they were outbid on a $70 million (£49.2 million) mansion in Beverly Hills.
They leased a pad in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighbourhood while they continued their house hunt, but had to move out of the property in the autumn (15) after the owners agreed to sell for $35.5 million (£25 million). According to TMZ.com, Beyonce and Jay Z were offered the opportunity to purchase at a slightly higher price, but declined.
