Bloom movie bosses win ratings appeal

Officials at America’s Classification and Rating Board originally gave the psychological thriller an R-rating, citing “some crude sexual references”.

Co-producer Jonathan King and screenwriter Julia Lebedev took their case to the appeals board in a bid to have The Good Doctor classified as a PG-13 in the U.S. – and they’ve succeeded in their battle, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new rating means all teenagers will be able to see the movie unaccompanied – an R rating requires under-17s to attend showings with a parent or adult guardian.
