Britney fans get free show

Die-hard Britney Spears fans would normally pay good money for a ticket to the pop star’s show, but in Sydney, Australia, on Thursday, they were thanking mother nature for their good fortune.

The Associated Press reports torrential rain forced Britney and crew to reschedule their open-air arena concert, which would have been attended by 10,000 fans. Instead, the show was rescheduled for later that day at a smaller indoor venue.

And the show did, indeed, go on.

Britney ended up performing gratis for about 1,000 people and, for the thousands of fans who couldn’t get an indoor seat, huge screens were set up in a nearby parking lot.

Later that night, the 20-year-old diva made an appearance at the Australian premiere of her movie Crossroads, walking the red carpet and signing autographs for scores of fans.
