Brooke Shields didn’t realise Mr. Pickles cartoon was for adults only

Actress Brooke Shields was shocked to discover her animated show Mr. Pickles was made for adults after originally signing on so her kids could watch the cartoon.
The Blue Lagoon star began voicing family matriarch Mrs. Goodman in 2013, and although she had previously seen a drawing of her “well-endowed” character, it wasn’t until the cartoon, about a murderous dog, was ready to air that she learned it wasn’t suitable material for her two children.
“When they (animators) showed me (initial images), they said, ‘Do you want to play this character?’ I said, ‘Oh great, a cartoon! This is fabulous, my kids can watch it!,'” Brooke recalled on breakfast show Good Morning America. “I didn’t see the entire (show), all the graphics… I just saw my bit…”
She was sent a link to view the footage before Mr. Pickles premiered, and excitedly gathered her daughters Rowan and Grier around the computer for the big reveal.
Brooke continued, “I said,’ Girls, girls! Mummy’s on a cartoon…!’ and I show it, I press play, and all of a sudden, I was like, ‘Oh, my god! It’s for adults…!'”
Despite her stunned reaction, Brooke ended up keeping the gig, and the third season of Mr. Pickles is set to premiere on the Adult Swim network this weekend (25Feb18).
