Bruce Springsteen joins Patti Smith for Tribeca Film Festival show

Bruce Springsteen joined Patti Smith for a rendition of their 1978 hit Because The Night onstage in New York on Monday night (23Apr18).
Smith was promoting her new documentary, Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band, at the Beacon Theater as part of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival when The Boss thrilled fans and wandered onstage.
The duo was then joined by former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe for Smith’s other big hit, People Have the Power.
Patti also performed both tunes on Sunday night (22Apr18) at Stephen Stills’ autism benefit.
Meanwhile, Springsteen’s appearance came during a break from his acclaimed Springsteen on Broadway show, which started out as an eight-week run at New York’s Walter Kerr Theatre in October, but has since been extended a number of times and will now run until mid-December (18).
