Cam’ron: ‘I have respect for Jay Z despite feud rumours’

Rapper Cam’ron has cleared up rumours of a long-standing feud with Jay Z, insisting the reports are inaccurate.
Talk of a feud between the two musicians has been swirling for several years. The 40-year-old has put out a number of songs, in which he takes aim at the 99 Problems hitmaker, even though he was signed to Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s.
However, Cam’ron now explains the feud was overblown and is blasting hip hop blogger and activist Karen Civil for suggesting the rivalry started over a parking spot in front of Def Jam records.
“I’ve haven’t went in on Karen ever and been proud of what she’s accomplished…(sic),” he writes on Instagram.com. “Even if she’s lied and stole to get there.. But u not gonna put me in ya bulls**t…
“Despite what people think Jay Z and I were not enemies… He signed off on mad projects we did… When he didn’t have too (sic)… And showed my crew love… It wasn’t till I Left DefJam (not kicked out) till we fell out… and I still respect his hustle and business savvy… And what he’s accomplished…”
Cam’ron then explains there was no blood over his departure from Def Jam, as Civil explained, insisting music mogul L.A. Reid was “kind enough” to let him out of his deal with the company after he was offered a new deal by Warner Bros. executives.
“L.A. Reid begged me to stay… but I had to grab that bag,” he adds. “This story Karen is telling is just another one of her lies…”
