Cardi B Offers to Perform for Free at Prince Harry’s Wedding

Cardi B has offered to waive her fee if Prince Harry wants her to perform at his wedding to Meghan Markle next year (18).

The British royal and former Suits star announced their engagement earlier this week, after months of speculation. Since then, a host of big musical stars have offered to perform at the reception, with Bodak Yellow star Cardi the latest.

Speaking about her love of the British royal family, Cardi told Capital XTRA DJ Manny Norte, who has playfully offered his services for the gig too: “I’m a fan of their whole story. I’m a fan of the fact that it’s just, like, people still stuck to that tradition of royal kingdoms and everything. That doesn’t happen in America.”

“I want to meet Prince Harry, just because of the fact that he is a prince. Like, ‘Yeah you met a president, but did you meet a prince?'”

And asked if she’d want to perform at the reception, Cardi replied with a definite “Yup”, before adding that she wouldn’t charge for the set.

“I’ll just do it, ’cause it’s like oh snap! ‘Have you performed for a future king?'” she said, despite the fact that Harry is sixth in line to the throne.

Stormzy and Sam Smith are among the other names who have expressed an interest in performing at the wedding, which is set to take place on 26 May, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.

Ellie Goulding was among the performers at Harry’s brother Prince William’s wedding to Catherine in 2011, and spoke to Marie Claire magazine after the nuptials about the experience.

“I talked to William and Kate quite a bit,” Ellie smiled. “They’re just a really awesome couple, lovely people, so I understand why people are fascinated by them.

“It was a really beautiful night. But then, I haven’t been to many weddings.”
