Carey Mulligan to star in one-woman play

Carey Mulligan is to return to the London stage in Dennis Kelly’s one-woman play Girls & Boys.
The 32-year-old will portray a woman who embarks on a passionate but troubled relationship after meeting a man in an airport queue in the drama, which will open at the Royal Court Theatre from 14 February to 10 March next year (18).
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, Carey says she is a little apprehensive about performing alone but is looking forward to the challenge.
She explains, “I just couldn’t walk away from it – as much as I’m terrified. I was really daunted by the one-woman show aspect of it all. But as my agent, Tor Belfrage, said: ‘If it’s not scary, it’s not worth doing.'”
The play, which is to be directed by Lyndsey Turner, marks The Great Gatsby actress’ first appearance on the London stage since she starred alongside Bill Nighy in Skylight in 2014.
Carey’s latest movie, the post-war drama Mudbound, debuts next Friday (17Nov17).
