Chris Pratt receives cassette tape gift from Chris Stapleton

Actor Chris Pratt has been surprised with a special mixtape and Walkman from top country artist Chris Stapleton.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star recently gushed about how big of a Stapleton fan he was as he promoted the sequel to his Marvel blockbuster, and he even performed a smooth rendition of the singer’s 2015 track Tennessee Whiskey on U.S. TV’s Popcorn With Peter Travers show.
“I’ve been listening to a lot of Chris Stapleton lately,” Pratt said. “He is so great. He can really sing.”
Stapleton heard about his famous fan and on Sunday (21May17), Pratt took to Instagram to express his sheer joy at the gift he had received from the Grammy winner himself – a personalised cassette tape version of the musician’s new album, From a Room: Volume 1.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a giant country music fan, and I happen to be a big fan of Chris Stapleton,” he explained in the video post. “I think I’ve mentioned it a couple times in interviews and possibly he caught wind of that. I’ve actually never met him in person, but guess what? He just sent me my own personalised Chris Stapleton mixtape! Oh snap! That is just one of the many, many blessings that have come my way.
“I don’t even know what to say except if you’re watching this Chris, Mr. Stapleton, thank you, I’m a huge fan.”
Pratt also showed off a new Sony Walkman Stapleton had included in the gift box, appearing to make a reference to the actor’s role as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, in which his character’s beloved portable cassette player gets trashed.
In the accompanying caption, the 37-year-old wrote, “#chrisstapleton sent me my very own customized TAPE of his new album!!! #fromaroomvolume1 Totally unsolicited. Never met him. He musta (sic) heard what a big fan I am. If you haven’t heard his music do so if you please. And go see #guardiansofthegalaxy 2 in theatres!”
