We all knew he had stars in his eyes.
As the President of the United States, Bill Clinton knew the power of the media and loved to hobnob with movie stars. He even starred in a short film parody about his last days in the presidency.
Now it looks like former President Clinton may be legitimately entering into the “other” business he loved so well. The Los Angeles Times reported Clinton met with NBC executives to discuss possibly doing his own talk show.
One source told the Times that Clinton was dead serious about doing something and would demand a fee of $50 million a year, perhaps “becoming the next Oprah Winfrey.”
Other television sources, however, say the idea of Clinton committing to doing a talk show would be null and void once the 55-year-old former president realizes the demands of taping a daily show for 39 weeks, the paper reported. Clinton himself hasn’t said anything officially about a potential TV career.
Since leaving his precarious post as president, Clinton has been making a nice living from speeches that pay $125,000 to $300,000 apiece, plus his $12 million book deal, Reuters reports.
