Cryer feared Sheen would die during breakdown

Sheen was fired from the hit U.S. sitcom in March (11) following months of wild antics, a health emergency, rehab and his bitter media blitz, during which he branded Cryer a “troll”.

But Cryer admits he wasn’t worried about the remark – because he was fearing the worst for his colleague during his downward spiral.

He tells U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, “Mostly I was worried that Charlie was going to die. That was the big fear for me. And that… that did not occur and I’m thrilled about that.”

The pair has not yet spoken since Sheen extended an apology for his comment, but Cryer insists he is willing to forgive and forget.

He adds, “We have not spoken. And I will accept an apology both public and private. But again, it was in the heat of the moment I imagine when he said (that)… So I did not put a whole lot of credence in it at the time.”

Cryer’s interview with DeGeneres airs in the U.S. on Wednesday (14Sep11).
