Dan Reynolds writes love songs for the ladies in his life

Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds found himself writing live songs for the first time while his wife was pregnant.
The Demons singer and his wife, Aja Volkman, welcomed twin daughters Coco Rae and Gia James on 28 March (17), and Dan admits all the oestrogen at home has turned him into a bit of a softie.
Reynolds, who is also dad to four-year-old Arrow Eve, tells Entertainment Tonight that a house full of ladies has inspired new music on the band’s third studio album, Evolve.
“I will say that there are a couple songs on this record that are love songs and typically, I do not write love songs,” he said. “I think having all these girls in the house with me has softened my heart a little bit and led me to higher grounds.”
The 29-year-old rocker insists he couldn’t be happier to be surrounded by girls: “I’m grateful for it,” he gushes. “I wanted girls, to be honest with you, so I’m happy.”
And he has nothing but praise for the way his eldest daughter is handling her duties as a big sister, even though sharing her parents with the twins has been tough for her at times.
“Two days ago we did a little hotel stay and had chocolate cake in bed and watched Aladdin,” her dad adds. “I definitely want her to know she’s still my number one.”
Imagine Dragons’ new album, which features the hit Believer, will be released next month (Jun17), while the band recently announced a massive autumn (17) North American tour, beginning at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on 28 September and including stops at the Hollywood Bowl and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
