Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and John Mayer jam at Comedy Cellar

John Mayer helped Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Aziz Ansari serve up a comedy jam session for New Yorkers on Saturday (01Oct16) by taking over a popular stand-up venue.
The rocker and Chappelle had spent the day at the inaugural New York City Roots Picnic festival, where the funnyman delighted fans in between musical performances by the likes of D’Angelo, The Roots, and Jeremih, and after the event, they headed to The Comedy Cellar in Manhattan’s West Village to continue the fun.
They were joined by Rock and Ansari as they traded barbs, and rocked out with Mayer on guitar for three hours at the top comedy club, much to the crowd’s delight.
“(They were) all on stage together at the same time just talking s**t, cracking jokes on each other, playing music and singing songs like they are (chilling) at home in the basement,” an audience member told the New York Post.
It was Mayer’s second surprise appearance of the weekend – on Friday (30Sep16), the singer performed an impromptu set at Bemelmans bar at the exclusive Carlyle Hotel.
