Dave Chappelle insisting on cell phone ban at Irish gig

Funnyman Dave Chappelle is taking his cell phone-ban concert to Ireland after tasting success with the idea in the U.S. earlier this year (18).

The comedian will be using Yondr technology at his upcoming 3Arena show in Dublin to make sure fans don’t get into the venue with a recording device or cell phone camera.

Fans who show up with their phones will have the device locked in a Yondr pouch, so that the audience can focus fully on the show. The initiative also prevents footage being shared on social media.
Anyone caught sneaking a phone into the venue will be asked to leave.

Chappelle will be joined at the 17 October (18) gig by pal and fellow comic Jon Stewart, who toured the U.S. with Dave on a limited tour.
