Deadmau5 slams Kanye West for alleged computer piracy

Deadmau5 has slammed Kanye West for allegedly illegally downloading music production software created by the super-producer’s record company partners.
Kanye posted an image of himself listening to singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens in his web browser on his Twitter.com account on Tuesday (01Mar16), upsetting DeadMau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, who reacted angrily as he believed the screenshot also featured the hip hop superstar downloading music-making Serum software.
Serum is produced by Xfer Records, the music label the Canadian dance music star co-founded.
“What the f**k @kanyewest… Can’t afford serum? D**k,” Deadmau5 tweeted, suggesting fans raise funds to enable Kanye to purchase the software, adding, “Let’s start a Kickstarter to help @kanyewest afford a copy of Serum… He needs a small loan of 200$ #prayforyeezy.”
Ironically, the musicians are part-owners of the Jay Z-fronted music streaming service Tidal, and both attended the New York launch last year (15).
At press time Kanye had not responded to Deadmau5’s remarks.
