Debbie Harry and Meryl Streep to Join New Jersey Hall of Fame


Rock icon Debbie Harry and Oscar winner Meryl Streep are set to be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.

The Class of 2017’s performing arts honorees also feature Bruce Springsteen’s sidekick, E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and I Will Survive hitmaker Gloria Gaynor, as well as Cake Boss reality TV star Buddy Valastro.

Other inductees include authors Harlan Coben and Anna Quindlen in the Arts and Letters category, and astronauts Mark and Scott Kelly, who will be recognized for Public Service.

Announcing the 21-strong group on Tuesday (30Jan18), New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said, “The hall exists to celebrate some of the most famous and most impactful. The New Jersey Hall of Fame is where their story is told and retold to inspire.”

The 10th annual Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in Asbury Park in May (18).

Last year’s (17) honorees included hip-hop star Wyclef Jean and actor Ray Liotta.
