Apparently, no matter how hard it tried to spice things up, the German TV network RTL II was unable to persuade viewers that watching contestants lose weight was any more interesting than watching paint dry. The channel announced Thursday that it will drop its reality show Big Diet on July 29, nine weeks into a scheduled 16-week run.
