Disney targets preschoolers

Toddlers will now have a chance to learn their ABCs with Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney Co. plans to launch a cable TV channel, Playhouse Disney, that will target children from 2- to 5-year-olds and will run on the Disney Channel, the Wall Street Journal reports. Playhouse Disney will attempt to fill a void that other cable channels have left for the 15 million preschoolers in the nation, said Anne Sweeney, president of Disney’s ABC Cable Networks Group, and president of Disney Channel worldwide.
