Blood, guts, dismemberment — it’s a week of the best new horror ever (Jan. 9-15). Every year, After Dark Films boasts eight unique new thrillers to, well, die for, ranging from gore to supernatural to the one that starts out ” — in the middle of the night. You’re driving on a lonely road, and … ” (Autopsy). Think of it as a film festival and pray it hits your hometown (Baltimore, Kansas City, Raleigh, and 28 others, you’re in luck!). This year’s great-eight lineup includes: Voices, based on the comic book about that great fear that the ones you love most … want you dead; The Broken, in which Lena Headey (aka Sarah Connor) is a successful radiologist that spots her doppelganger driving down the street; and Butterfly Effect: Revelation, the third installment that extends the infamous Ashton Kutcher movie of years past.
