America’s Next Top Model Premiere

No, it’s not the “short” cycle yet — the season that will boast “mini” models, girls 5-foot-seven and under (this fall!). Tonight’s premiere will just be regular ol’ tall girls — one named London, another named Fo and one awfully busty chick that thinks it’s OK she spell her name K-O-R-T-N-I-E. The first photographs of the model-hopefuls (and of Tyra, too, natch!) show off little red Kabuki lips, but then … a toga party ensues. Suddenly, Tyra and her two gay Jays have the models talking about their obsession with political conspiracies, nose bleeds and, of course, modeling amongst Roman (or is it Greek?) sculptures. Well, if things made sense on the Top Model set, then it wouldn’t be Tyra Banks. Two full hours are allotted to tonight’s mega-group of shrieking contestants, getting whittled down to 13 spots. Some will make it abroad, most will get wowza makeovers, but best of all, most will get to meet and learn from … the nimble Benny Ninja!
