DO IT TODAY: ‘Make Me a Supermodel’ Finale

Make Me a Supermodel Finale
(Wednesday, June 3, 2009)

Much respect to Mountaha, but … it’s pretty damn exciting that the finale is an all-boys competition (wonder all you want if it’s rigged). What’s nuts is that all three supermodel hopefuls — Jonathan, Sandhurst and Branden — are all handsome, all talented and all deserving of the $100,000 grand prize. Twenty-two-year old Sandhurst, from Trinindad and Tobago, may have thunder-thighs and the face of an accountant, but the ballet dancer, who’s coming off a fresh win from the last ep, also knows how to make the catwalk his bitch. Eighteen-year-old Branden is so sweet. He cries. He misses his mom. He’s got this half-smile that is so goofy, and he walks the runway like a slumped horror-movie villain with long arms. Clearly, he’s not winning … but, ohpleaseohplease, let Jonathan take it. Not just because the 26-year-old Brit is a provider for both his baby boy and threatening wife back home, but because he’d convince anybody to buy a pack of Marlboros (reference cowboy shoot), and he impressively survived the runway in those sneakers with the wheels on ’em. He is impossibly gorgeous — now that his hair isn’t brown anymore.
