For months now, Project Runway‘s been touting Nina Garcia as an employee of Elle, when in fact, Nina’s out (now at Marie Claire), and Elle‘s got a new sartorial authority named Anne Slowey. And naturally, Anne wanted her reality TV show, too. Stylista is mindfully slotted in Runway‘s former hour, but instead of designers competing for $100,000 and a Saturn hybrid, these 11 are vying for a paid editorial position at Elle, a one-year lease on a NYC apartment and a one-year shopping allowance at H&M — a combined worth of $100,000. The pilot has each editor hopeful preparing breakfast for Anne — and surprise! — they’re judged based on tray display and the clothes on their backs. So what if it’s a complete mimicry of The Devil Wears Prada?
