Eddie Redmayne becomes an uncle on Oscars night

Eddie Redmayne had extra reason to celebrate at the Oscars on Sunday (28Feb16) after becoming an uncle hours earlier.
The British actor is expecting his first child with his wife Hannah, and he reveals their baby will have an instant playmate.
“My brother, who lives in Hong Kong, he and his wife, James and Emma, have just had a baby girl about two hours ago, so there is a new Redmayne in the world!” Eddie exclaimed in a red carpet interview with ABC News.
The 34-year-old also opened up about his own impending fatherhood, laughing, “It’s been just so exciting and mildly terrifying at the same time!”
Eddie and Hannah, who wed in December, 2014, confirmed their exciting news in January (16), when the glowing mum-to-be debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards.
The star is nominated for a second consecutive year for the Best Actor honour for his role in real-life transgender drama The Danish Girl. Eddie, who emerged victorious at the 2015 ceremony for his portrayal of physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, faces tough competition this year (16), and he has already prepared himself to lose to Best Actor frontrunner Leonardo DiCaprio, who he agrees deserves to win.
“I totally agree with them,” Eddie recently smiled to HeyUGuys.com. “I was lucky enough to audition for a film with Leonardo DiCaprio about 10 years ago, I spent 15 minutes working with him and it’s one of the more inspiring 15 minutes of my life. I think he’s extraordinary and deserves it all.”
Eddie and Leo will also go up against Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Matt Damon (The Martian), and Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs) for the coveted prize on Sunday night.
