Effects to distinguish “Raider” ‘coaster

Paramount indicated Thursday that it is planning to feature an array of special effects to distinguish “Tomb Raider: The Ride,” a rollercoaster ride it is building at its King’s Island theme park near Cincinnati. Set to open next year, the ride is being promoted this way on the King’s Island website: “Become enmeshed in an epic test of fire and ice! Hurtling through the darkness, you’ll come face-to-face with glistening, razor-sharp stalactites and roiling, red-hot lava pits, twisting and turning as you struggle against the fury of nature’s polar opposites in a desperate effort to escape!” In a statement, King’s Island general manager Tim Fisher ballyhooed: “We aren’t going to disclose all of the surprises in store for riders, but this attraction will change the face of thrill ride history.”
