Elizabeth Taylor’s ‘Green Goddess’ Rolls Royce up for auction

Elizabeth Taylor’s 1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II is set to go under the hammer at auction.
Dubbed The Green Goddess, the one-of-a kind motor vehicle will be up for sale on 6 August (19) through Guernsey’s Auction House at the Pierre Hotel in New York City, where the actress set up home with then-husband Eddie Fisher in the early 1960s.
The couple bought the custom-made car in England in 1960, and it went on to feature on the covers of magazines including Vanity Fair.
Auction house bosses insist the Green Goddess is in “beautiful condition with rebuilt engine, new leather interior and new convertible top”.
Meanwhile, the dress Taylor wore to the 1974 Oscars is among a treasure trove of keepsakes from her estate heading to auction in December.
The Edith Head-designed chiffon gown is one of over 1,200 items set to go under the hammer at a Julien’s Auctions sale. Other highlights include a Cartier belt Taylor had inscribed to her mother, a New York Yankees jacket the late actress wore for a Vogue Paris photo shoot, and various jewellery items, wigs and fine art.
