Ellen DeGeneres To Host 2001 Emmys

Ellen DeGeneres is on a roll. Five days after announcing that DeGeneres will return to prime time on a new show, CBS has said that the actress will host this year’s Emmy Awards. This will be DeGeneres‘ second shot at hosting the television awards ceremony, having co-hosted the event in 1994 with Patricia Richardson. The actress is currently promoting her new sitcom, The Ellen Show, in which she plays a gay Internet executive who leaves the big city to return to life in her hometown. The show will debut this fall on CBS. The 53rd annual prime time Emmy awards will be televised on Sept. 16 from Los Angeles on CBS.
