Ellen Pompeo: ‘I’m not part of Taylor Swift’s squad’

Ellen Pompeo will be part of Taylor Swift’s famous squad when the pop star opens an “old ladies’ section”.
The actress starred as Luna in the pop star’s much-lauded Bad Blood video, which was released in 2015. The promo was a who’s who collection of Hollywood stars and also featured actresses Jessica Alba and Lena Dunham, as well as Lily Aldridge, Cindy Crawford and Cara Delevingne, among others.
While she enjoyed the experience, the Grey’s Anatomy star does not feel part of the 26-year-old’s famous girl group of friends, which includes the likes of Selena Gomez, model Gigi Hadid and singer Lorde, just yet.
The 46-year-old told US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel that she asked Taylor if there is an “old ladies’ section in the squad”, before musing that she does have “the ass of a 20-year-old”.
Ellen is also in no rush to meet Taylor’s cat, whom the popstar named after Ellen’s character Dr Meredith Grey on the hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
“I’m super allergic to cats so it’s going to be very awkward,” she laughed.
Ellen is fiercely proud that Grey’s Anatomy has been on air for 11 years, but she admits it wasn’t so easy for the actors when they were first shooting the show.
“I remember thinking, ‘We have no idea how to act like doctors, but that’s OK because the interns aren’t supposed to have any idea of how to be doctors, so it’s OK if we mess up and look like idiots,'” she laughed.
Ellen revealed show producers have asked her to live Tweet about the programme when it goes to air, but she struggles with the concept as social media wasn’t so big when the show began.
“We like to be cooperative, the important episodes I do (tweet about),” she said.
