Elton John: ‘A talent like Billie Eilish doesn’t come along very often’

Elton John has heaped praise on Billie Eilish in a new interview, calling the singer “one of the most talented young ladies I’ve ever heard”.

The bad guy singer has enjoyed huge success of late, with her popularity increasing so much in recent months that her set had to be moved to a bigger stage at Britain’s Glastonbury festival last weekend (June 28-30, 2019).

Many of Billie’s peers have lauded her innovative talent, and now legendary singer Elton has become the latest big name to commend the 17-year-old.

Speaking about Billie’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? during a conversation with Complex’s Pigeons & Planes, Elton gushed: “Her album was amazing. She’s come a long way very quickly. She’s an incredible word-of-mouth artist. I can’t wait to see her live because she has something very special going on. Talent like hers doesn’t come along very often.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Elton praised R&B singer Khalid as “a great writer, a great singer”, and cited British stars Collard, Loyle Carner, Dave, Slowthai, Little Simz, Ray BLK and MoStack as among his favourite musicians of the moment.
