Emily Blunt: ‘I didn’t want to become the next Britney Spears’

Actress Emily Blunt never seriously considered a career as a pop singer.
Details about the new mum’s pop star efforts recently leaked and now The Devil Wears Prada star, 33, is being asked about her early recordings as she promotes her fresh film The Girl on a Train.
“The story has been blown completely out of proportion,” she tells Extra. “I was approached by somebody when I was in school and they said, ‘You can sing. You should record a couple of demos’, and I did, and then I got cold feet and I pulled out because I was scared… It wasn’t what I wanted to do and I didn’t want to be, like, a pop singer.”
And responding to stories suggesting she sounded like Britney Spears, she smiled and said, “Please! Nobody can out-Britney Britney.”
