Emmy-winning producer Drew Levin sentenced

Levin was the CEO and founder of prolific TV production and distribution company Team Communications and was indicted in March 2008 for the scheme to inflate the NASDAQ-traded company’s revenue and stock price.

Levin was the executive producer for popular shows including Future Quest, Hollywood Stuntmakers and Total Recall 2070.

He plead guilty in September last year (11) and his sentence in Los Angeles District Court included a second case of defrauding a French investor into a separate Levin-owned company.

District Judge Dean D. Pregerson also ordered Levin to pay $2.3 million (£1.4 million) in restitution to 13 victims in the United States, France, Austria, England and Switzerland.

Judge Pregerson said, “It is a picture of Mr. Levin being essentially completely out of control and using his charm and sizeable intellect to lie to people and take their money…when you read the letters about the promises that were made once notes were due…those are lies, clearly. And you see that time and time again.”
