Entourage star Kevin Dillon portrays struggling actor Johnny Drama on the series and his character signs up to voice a gorilla cartoon called Johnny’s Bananas.
But the name of the animated show has landed TV bosses in trouble with former The Real World star Johnny Devananzio, who claims he owns the rights to his nickname Johnny Bananas.
Devananzio is convinced the similarity is “in no way coincidental” and tells TMZ.com it is producers’ way of capitalising on the name recognition he insists he is “solely responsible for creating”.
His lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, has fired off a cease and desist letter to HBO network bosses to pull the episodes from air or face “judicial intervention”.
The eighth and final season of Entourage is currently airing in the U.S.
