Eye of the Tiger singer quits Survivor

The voice of Survivor’s Rocky III anthem Eye of the Tiger has quit the group.
The band’s original lead singer Dave Bickler has been sharing vocal duties with 21-year-old newcomer Cameron Barton since October (15), but he has announced he’s quit in a post on Facebook.
It reads: “To all my dear fans, Bitter sweet news that I am no longer a member of Survivor.
“Just wanted to share that with you. There is no longer a place for me in the band. So I’ll be moving on and direct all my energies to my solo project. And thank you for all your support.”
Survivor have been in a state of transition since August, 2014, when Jimi Jamison, who took over lead vocals for the band in the mid-1980s, died. At the time of his sudden death, Jamison had been sharing the stage with Bickler.
Barton joined last year (15), and at the time the band released a statement assuring fans, “Dave isn’t being replaced.”
