Empire star Taraji P. Henson refused to be rushed offstage at Sunday’s (10Jan16) Golden Globe Awards as she delivered her acceptance speech for Best Actress in a TV Series – Drama. The star, who earned the title for her portrayal of convicted drug dealer and music producer Cookie Lyon, started her speech by saying, “Cookies for everyone tonight, my treat…! Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe…?” The music signalling her exit cue soon began playing, prompting Henson to quip, “Please wrap? Wait a minute, I waited 20 years for this! You can wait!”, as she completed her thank yous.
