Felton feared he’d be pushed out of Potter

The Brit has enjoyed a decade-long stint as villainous wizard Draco Malfoy alongside the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

But before the series’ fourth film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, rumours surfaced that studio bosses were planning to draft in replacements for the main roles – and Felton admits several castmembers worried they’d lose their job.

In an interview for his website FeltBeats.com, he says, “We all feared that after the fourth film that (sic) they were going to get rid of us and start again with new kids. So yeah, we’re very proud to have made it all the way through, so to speak.”

And Felton also reveals he auditioned for the roles of Potter and his best pal Ron Weasley, but is convinced no one could play those characters as well as Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

He adds, “You know, no one could have done the jobs as good as Daniel, or especially Rupert, you know, comedic genius, but yeah (I did audition). No doubt things would have been very different. I’m not sure I would have rocked the ginger hair as well as I did the blond.”
