Former Eagles’ star Randy Meisner’s wife ‘shot dead’

The wife of Eagles co-founder Randy Meisner reportedly died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at the rocker’s home in the Studio City area of the city on Sunday (06Mar16) evening where they found one person dead before arresting a suspect, according to editors at PageSix.com.
Although the name of the deceased is yet to be officially released, a law enforcement source told the publication, “Randy seemed to be in shock and wasn’t even able to acknowledge that Lana Rae was dead from a gunshot wound.”
Meisner reportedly called the police to his home stating that his wife had committed suicide, according to editors at TMZ.com. They also allege that officers were called out to the home of the Take It To The Limit musician earlier in the day to investigate an accusation of domestic violence.
Since leaving the Eagles in 1977, Meisner has allegedly been struggling with mental illness.
In January 2015, his friend James Newton was granted temporary conservatorship over Meisner after he had apparently threatened to kill himself and staff at a California hospital .
Newton’s attorney Troy Martin also told the court Meisner had been suffering from alcoholism and also took medication for a mood disorder, according to the New York Daily News.
