Gabrielle Union to Star in ‘Bad Boys’ TV Spin-Of

Gabrielle Union is reportedly going to star in a TV spin-off of Bad Boys.

In 2003 movie Bad Boys II, the Bring It On actress played Special Agent Sydney ‘Syd’ Burnett, an undercover operative with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Syd is the sister of Martin Lawrence’s detective character Marcus and the romantic interest of Marcus’ partner Mike Lowrey, who was played by Will Smith.

After a 14-year hiatus, Gabrielle will reportedly be playing Syd once again in her own TV spin-off, which will be focused on her character, according to Deadline. The untitled project is reportedly being pitched to TV networks and has received a lot of interest.

It comes from Bad Boys movies’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, via his 2.0 Entertainment and Primary Wave Entertainment, which manages Gabrielle. It is being written by The Blacklist writers-producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier.

The 44-year-old actress is currently starring in TV series Being Mary Jane, but that show is coming to an end next year (18) with a two-hour series finale.
