Gary Rossington medical emergency forces Lynyrd Skynyrd to scrap Florida show

Classic rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd have scrapped a show in Florida to allow guitarist Gary Rossington to recover from a “medical emergency”.
The group was scheduled to perform in Tallahassee on Friday night (03Nov17), but the 65-year-old has pulled out of the show, prompting his bandmates to axe the concert.
The exact cause of the medical issue is not known, but Rossington has had multiple heart procedures within the past 18 months after suffering a heart attack in October, 2015.
Rossington is the only founding member of the band still performing with Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Singer Ronnie Van Zant and other bandmates died in a 1976 plane crash, Allen Collins died of respiratory failure in 1990, bassist Leon Wilkeson died in 2001, and keyboard player Billy Powell died of a heart attack in 2009.
It is not clear when or if Lynyrd Skynyrd will continue their tour.
