Governor launches pardon bid for Billy The Kid

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is considering pardoning the outlaw for killing a sheriff in 1888 and he wants state locals to make the decision for him.

Richardson has created a website for people to comment on his plans and if it gets enough hits, he’ll pardon the gunslinger.

History suggests the cowboy, real name William H. Bonney, was offered amnesty for the crime in exchange for testimony in another case.
